To be legally married you must both say “I, (the groom) take you, (the bride) to be my husband/wife” (or words to that effect).
I believe your personal vows are your promises to one another and I encourage you to look inside yourself and into your hearts and write these yourselves. Your own personalised vows will create a very special highlight in the ceremony, combining all the ingredients of romance, dignity, yes possibly tears, and even laughter.
